These stats come from the CCIT Bullseye router/switch in Gould-Simpson. (Our buildings are connected via gigabit fiber to Bullseye. Bullseye in turn is sitting on the campus backbone, which in turn is connected to the internet backbone.)

Concerning our servers...

Many software projects keep rough track of participation/usage by counting Google hits. Just as we sometimes wonder what software other academic sites are using, we presume they might reciprocally wonder about us. Finally, curious users often have similar questions. To serve all these needs, that information appears here.

• Many of our servers run Debian GNU/Linux.
• Our DNS caches are powered by djbdns.
• Our DNS servers are powered by djbdns.
• Our DNS caches resolve through the ICANN root servers run by VeriSign. [Until 12 July 2004, we resolved against the Open Root Server Confederation (ORSC) root servers, which gave our users access to additional top-level-domains (for example, there are TLDs managed by the OpenNIC, including these funky sites as well as many of these other funky sites), but ORSC appears to have disappeared.]
• Our mailservers are powered by Exim.
• Incoming email is rejected if it appears on the following RBLs: , , ORDB.
• Incoming email is tagged if it appears on the following RBLs: spambag, DUN list of dnsrbl.net, SPAM list of dnsrbl.net.
